Espolon: Equality, 2015

Hand embroidery on calico, 14cm x 14cm

In 2015 I was commissioned by Espolon Tequila to create four embroideries in my illustrative motif style with specific themes of Death, Privacy and Technology, Environment as well as Equality. Espolon is a Mexican tequila company which wanted political art, inspired by the revolutionary artist José-guadalupe Posada who used motifs of skulls and skeletons to represent society. As my logo has always been a skull, I jumped at the opportunity to use a skeleton in each of the four designs.
