Women’s Work - Ferron Gipson, 2022

This book is by Ferron Gipson called Women’s Work: From feminine arts to feminist arts, and features incredible textiles icons such as Anni Albers, Louise Bourgeois and the artist who I wrote my dissertation about, Faith Ringgold. I feature alongside them, this book laid out in chronological order ends with a section about me and my art. I cannot begin to explain how my identity, confidence and will to live has been tested since dealing with chronic pain. I feel proud of myself, and honoured to connect to people through my favourite medium in the world, needle and thread. An honour to feature alongside so many amazing pioneers and artists which have used mediums which have been put down and disregarded throughout Art History in the West.
