Patchwork - Cotton Bandana, Felt, Embroidery Thread and Gold Chord, 21cm x 29cm.

I designed this artwork for the Norfolk Trans Joy Quilt before realising that it was for Norfolk residents only, but I wanted to make something and what better occasion than for Pride. The world is so hostile to our Trans siblings, and hate is also growing again towards the Queer community including Drag Queens. I love being bisexual/pansexual (Im really not sure which label is for me, Im a bit confused about the definitions and reasons to identify with one or the other) but Queerness, our expression, resilience, humour, love are beautiful things to behold. Im endlessly inspired by my Trans siblings across the globe who fight gender norms and restrictions just by existing, you help my non-binary self see the vastness of gender expression in all its endless forms. You give me strength, and belief that there really is more to this world than oppression, subjugation and rigid gender binaries.
